Successful premiere for the MUV-Festival
With record summer temperatures, the BERNEXPO site became the largest meeting place for the Swiss sports, health, and outdoor scene from June 13 to 15. The first MUV-Festival attracted around 10,700 visitors. The hot weather conditions put visitors, exhibitors, and organizers alike to the test. The absolute highlight of the weekend was the IFSC Boulder World Cup, which was held in the Festhalle for the first time and created an exciting atmosphere.
Bouldering elite delights audience
The IFSC Boulder World Cup was the undisputed sporting highlight of the weekend. Festival tickets also provided access to the bouldering competitions, which many visitors took advantage of. They followed the qualifications and finals, cheered loudly on the athletes, and admired the top performances of the international bouldering elite. The new Festhalle provided a dignified and atmospheric setting for the World Cup – and demonstrated its potential as a venue for top-class sporting events. In the thrilling final competitions, Erin McNeice (GBR) prevailed in the women's competition, and Yufei Pan (CHN) took the victory in the men's competition – an impressive conclusion to an unforgettable event.
The new hall has proven itself very successful. Luca Graf, Head of the Sports Department at BERNEXPO, is very satisfied: "The atmosphere in the Festhalle was truly exceptional. We received particularly enthusiastic feedback from the athletes. This fills us with great pride and motivates us to build on this foundation and take the next step."
The next MUV-Festival – including the IFSC Boulder World Cup – will take place in Bern from May 22 to 24, 2026.
